1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device. Similar technologies, such as your browser's local storage, work in a comparable way. In this policy, “cookies” covers both.
2. Our approach
We keep this website as free of cookies as possible. We use no advertising cookies, no social media tracking and no cross-site profiling. The only item stored on your device by this website is your cookie choice itself.
3. Categories
Necessary. These are needed for the website to work and to remember your cookie choice. They cannot be switched off.
Website statistics (Fathom Analytics). We measure visits with Fathom Analytics, a privacy-focused analytics service. Fathom sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. It does not collect or store personal data such as your IP address and does not track you across websites. We only see aggregated figures, for example page views, referring websites, and clicks on key buttons such as the recap video or the full gallery.
Embedded video (YouTube). The SwissHacks 2026 recap video is hosted on YouTube. It does not load when you open the page. Nothing is requested from YouTube or Google until you press play. Once you do, the video loads from youtube-nocookie.com, and YouTube may then set cookies on its own domain to play the video and remember your playback settings. YouTube's own privacy policy applies to that processing.

This website links to other websites, such as Swiss Fintech Week, Tenity, our sponsors and the full photo gallery. Those websites have their own cookie and privacy policies, which apply once you leave this site.
6. Managing and withdrawing consent
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the Cookie preferences button in the footer of every page. Your choice is stored for 12 months, after which we ask again. You can also delete stored data and block cookies in your browser settings. Doing so may mean you are asked for your choice again on your next visit.
